Confident Certainty (A-Z Challenge)

So little in Life

Offers constancy

But trials, losses assuredly

Like skiffs, we journey

On mercurial seas…

Thus, I’ve set trust on

Put whole soul’s faith in

The unchanging Christ

To pilot, with Truth’s compass

This grayed vintage vessel…

While tempests may

Buffet some seasons

More than most, and

Though I travel future-blind

I’ve confident certainty

Of adventure’s success

Jesus holds eternal

Navigational chart

He sees ahead, has

Accompanied my Past

If waves rise high, lash

With Him, I’ll not drown

*He’s vowed to keep those

The Father has given Him

And declares that I’ll last!

Like best all-weather slicker

That’s promise I wear

As winds whip, too they’ll rest…

He’ll see me securely

From shore to shore

Then finally, home port

Where we’ll put down

Hope’s anchor

In Glory, evermore.
