Nuanced Mirage

Your voice carries

Caution, leaves smile

And eyes’ denim depths

You’re a nuanced mirage, melting

‘Mid hate-filled summer’s heat

As my arms reach through

Murk of night, struggle against

Clingy, longing-tossed sheets

Tears exhaust heart…

Dreaming again

  1. Fabulous fabulous.. fantastic play of words. A story told with pure artistry.. a play unfolding. You set the stage for a dramatic play of words.

        1. Bless you, bless you–I love that our writing so often resonates in some way to each other. Because I greatly admire your talent, I feel we’re usually on an even plane. Hope you’re surviving the heat–it’s 89 degrees in my apartment tonight…nearly too hot to write, yikes! 🙂

            1. Oh my gosh, a humid 100–I should be grateful ours has gone down 6 degrees, hah! Can’t believe I baked brownies and cooked spaghetti today–for my neighbor who broke her leg 🙂 I’m a “sweaty saint”😇 (lacking modesty)

                1. My hope is that, if I’m ever in such a situation, she might help me too 🙂 We’re both in 2nd floor apartments, seniors with disabilities–life is a constant challenge 🙂 The weather person just said it will be 10 degrees cooler tomorrow–I’ll take it!!! 🙂 Much love to you, Punam 💕💟
