“Why not shrug at winter’s chill

Sing out loud, wow the crowd

Wearing red, plump with daring?”

Let less courageous smirking souls

Shiver, turn away uncaring

That each season’s treasure delivered

Shouldn’t be missed, disdained as cold kiss…

Too pale, unnoticed, hoarfrost white

Too soon bored, the passing throngs

Who forget first snow’s sun-tipped luster

And need a wake-up from wearied light…

“Why not dazzle their downcast eyes?!”

Shout crimson-scarlet berries bright.

Embrace the Rain!

This is for Laura Denise…click the link to enjoy her post, “Happiness Is” (and all of her lovely photography and poetry)!  She was dubious when I told her I had a T-shirt with “Embrace the Rain” printed on it. 🙂 😉 https://lauradenise.home.blog/2020/01/25/happiness-is/

Webcam photo, less than stellar, of what is actually a brilliant blue T-shirt bought at a thrift shop for a couple dollars because of the phrase, “Embrace the Rain”.

Many people in other parts of the USA think the Seattle, WA area is “all about rain”, and tease that we must have webbed feet.  In truth, we have plenty of sunny days!  I’ve lived here since 1967 and, other than when I have to do errands with an umbrella, I do love the rain…it’s poet’s manna 🙂
