Paint Me A Window

Paint me a window

In mind’s blue-shadowed attic

Where dim ghosts murmur

Paint it like cathedral glass

Hues of Heaven’s front porch glow

~

Paint grace-scrubbed windows

Filled with dawn light, fireworks night

Hosannas’ shimmer

Let me see longed-for faces

Recollections no more shamed

~

Wide painted window

May open with whimsy’s breeze

Miraculously

Lift heart’s thoughts on seabirds’ wings

Rain salt-tang-hope ‘mid winter

Wisdom’s Glimmer

Eugi's Weekly Prompt – Glimmer – January 27, 2020

Frequently glimmers

Beam of Heaven’s rich wisdom

Hands reach to capture

Tuck in heart’s fraying pocket

Lest ageing sieve mem’ry leaks

Heaven’s Home Office

I’m relieved God

Has not assigned me

A chair on His council

Where tenured saints

Discuss, vote on issues

Hand down judgments

Accolades.

Taking and typing up notes

Bringing donuts, spring water

Will stretch my limited

Talent, capabilities.

God understands, accepts

That I’ve never been ambitious

And when there’s an opening

In Heaven’s Kitchen

I’m assured the position…

Happy day!
