Life’s Curve Balls

It is likely I will be leaving the “blog life” soon, due to technical and personal issues.  I appreciate those of you who’ve been loyal readers—thank you very much.  Stay safe, well, happy (blessed). Rhen

Life tosses curve balls

“Benched” may be best position

Keep eye on fast pitch

A ha’sonnet:

Soul cannot ken

Mind within heart

Give answer then

Deep questions, part

Prone to bumble

Faith, keep humble

Follow Lamp’s glow

Had plans not been anserine*, arrogant…soul, desperate

Life wouldn’t be sore navigated, heart on crutches.

Shepherd Calls, Refreshes

He calls my spirit

Speaks using covenant name

That I won’t mistake

True Light, Life, Love in His voice

My Good Shepherd who protects

Carries me to path

Where ‘rest’ lives, soul is refreshed

Lifting countenance

Daily Light #38 ~ The Word Is God

Prologue: Christ, the Eternal Word

In the beginning the Word already existed.

The Word was with God,

and the Word was God.

He existed in the beginning with God.

God created everything through him,

and nothing was created except through him.

The Word gave life to everything that was created,

and his life brought light to everyone.

The light shines in the darkness,

and the darkness can never extinguish it.

John 1-5, New Living Translation

Verse 14 ~ “So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.”

Verse 16-18 ~ “From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another.  For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.  No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.”

Daily Light #12 ~ Palm Sunday

“My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings.  Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.” Proverbs 4:20-22, New King James Version

This took place to fulfill the prophecy that said, “Tell the people of Jerusalem, ‘Look, your King is coming to you. He is humble, riding on a donkey— riding on a donkey’s colt.’”… They brought the donkey and the colt to him and threw their garments over the colt, and he sat on it… Most of the crowd spread their garments on the road ahead of him, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.  Jesus was in the center of the procession, and the people all around him were shouting, “Praise God for the Son of David! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the LORD! Praise God in highest heaven!” Matthew 21:4-9 New Living Translation
