Crowded Mind (Limerick)

In bijou mind I need more space

Myriad thoughts vie for rightful place

Most notions have good purpose sweet

Some with grim shadows are replete

Brain bustling, I seek rest in grace🙂

Daily Fight (Limerick)

Limerick prompt: FIGHT

Incensed, enraged, some folks daily fight

Defend their belief that they’re always right

‘Gainst great, small enemies they wage war

Till lost in the brawl is true reason for…

Will wisdom win, peace hold torchlight high in night?

Preach Without Screech (Limerick)

Prompt: Screech

Though she often felt zealous calling to preach

Pulpit-fright caused stress that her voice might well screech

Her message: ‘Have courage, be of good cheer’

But murmurs would rise, someone saying, “can’t hear”

Standing taller she’d begin fresh, to let God’s grace-words reach!

Muse On the Blink (Limerick)

Dedicated to all the fine poets here, and especially Pat, who gave me free use of the phrase “muse on the blink” (which cracked me up when I first read it)🙂  Do visit Pat’s blog, she has beautiful photos and wonderful short poems!

Troubled poets, Muse on the blink

All flights cancelled, too tired to think

Burdened by burgeoning unrest

Times of travail which try faithful best

And leave finest pens with pallid ink

Eat and Pray, You’ll Be Okay (Limerick)

Don’t be a fool, giving place to despair

Tearing what remains of too-thin hair

Step back from life’s crazy whirligig

Before you’re forced to invest in wig

Eat big bowl of fruity sherbet, lift faith-filled prayer

Humor for What Ails You (Limerick)

Sad world has truly taken sick

Looks for any medicament’s new trick

Folks complain of moody boredom

Some are tipsy if drinks afford ’em

But, humor’s still free…and old gal’s paltry limerick

Wee Noggin of Wine (Limerick)

https://wordofthedaychallenge.wordpress.com/2020/05/22/noggin/

https://ragtagcommunity.wordpress.com/2020/05/22/rdp-friday-settle/

Apostle Paul repented of sins, vice

Turned to preaching the Lord, giving advice

Told Timothy to take wee noggin of wine

To settle his stomach*, make it feel fine…

Since just munching grapes, oddly, didn’t suffice
