Weighted Heart

Prompt: photo and Words:  “It is a puzzle. How can life go on its stupid course on such a day?” – Tortilla Flat, John Steinbeck.

Weighted heart stumbles in my shoes, my brain has blown a fuse—it is a puzzle. How can life go on its stupid course on such a day?  Bruised black-violet clouds tussle in hard sky without loosing rain’s grace of Heaven.  Please, God.  While everyone weeps, angry thunder rumbles threats nearby.

Rain…Poets’ Night

Dusk has gone black

Rain’s a jet necklace

Puddles fill with her ebony beads

It’s an elegant night for poets

Word-dreams drenched in tears only need polishing

Embrace the Rain!

This is for Laura Denise…click the link to enjoy her post, “Happiness Is” (and all of her lovely photography and poetry)!  She was dubious when I told her I had a T-shirt with “Embrace the Rain” printed on it. 🙂 😉 https://lauradenise.home.blog/2020/01/25/happiness-is/

Webcam photo, less than stellar, of what is actually a brilliant blue T-shirt bought at a thrift shop for a couple dollars because of the phrase, “Embrace the Rain”.

Many people in other parts of the USA think the Seattle, WA area is “all about rain”, and tease that we must have webbed feet.  In truth, we have plenty of sunny days!  I’ve lived here since 1967 and, other than when I have to do errands with an umbrella, I do love the rain…it’s poet’s manna 🙂
