Daily Restoration

A good “Monday” poem, perhaps ūüôā

~*~

Each day’s a new start

Even if we have to drag

Strained souls to altar

For there the Lord restores us

His Presence clothed in praises

“But thou art¬†holy,¬†O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” Psalm 22:3, King James Bible

Leave-taking

Moon’s muse is calling

Dulcet voice, rhythm of waves

At dawn soul takes leave

If angels be company

And God has mercy to spare

Danger Signs (3LineTales)

Three Line Tales, Week 226

Strange and sad…foolish people disregard “danger” signs.

Had plans not been anserine*, arrogant…soul, desperate

Life wouldn’t be sore navigated, heart on crutches.

*anserine, Merriam-Webster definition:¬†of, relating to, or resembling a goose anserine characteristics;¬†STUPID,¬†SILLY¬†ridiculous¬†anserine behavior (“silly goose”)

Dogwood Glory

I wrote this earlier…unfortunately the dogwood flowers are about gone, but they’ve left a bodacious full green tree!¬† The photo is from a couple years ago…my neighbor cut a branch of dogwood for my table.

Dogwood is blooming

Glory anticipated

Pink petals lift soul

Everyday Tears (NaPoWriMo 2020)

Everyday tears, rain

Relentless torrential storm

Rattling soul’s windows

Perspective shattered, blinded

Buffeted heart languishes

~

Dusk-blue sky purples

Seeps aubergine by midnight

Prayers lost among clouds

Shuffling through Shadowed Valley

Shards of trampled hope crackle

~

Hollowed out echoes

Screaming voice within hoarse, burns

Gratitude gray ash

What happened to Yesterday

Silent sulfurous smoke plumes

Evening Peace

Night birds’ evening song

Wind chimes peal like chapel bells

Melodies of peace

Restful soul sets day aside

Tomorrow’s door unopened
